Mutual

I'm pretty sure Jillian Michaels hates me.

After my workout today, I can tell you one thing for sure:

The feeling is mutual.

I started the Shred again today. I actually made it through the whole workout this time unlike my first attempt months ago. The realization that I have less than 6 months before my wedding day has me freaking out about losing the rest of this weight in time. I'm having a hard time tracking (and with my self-control) but I'm working on it. To speed things up I need to add in some exercise. So I did some yoga on the Wii to loosen up my back and started the Shred again (and WILL keep with it this time *fingers crossed*). My limbs feel like noodles right now, but I know it will be worth in in a few weeks :)

In other news, I took Matthew to see Alice in Wonderland last night. We drove to Louisville (about 45min. drive) to see it at the IMAX in 3D at 10p. However, when we got there they were sold out of all IMAX showings, and the next available regular (but still 3D) showing wasn't until 11:15pm. We were a little bummed we drove that far for IMAX and couldn't see it, but we stuck around for the later showing. It was our first 3D experience at least, and the new environment was something out of the ordinary for us :)  The movie was really cute. Matthew liked it a lot, but he's a big Alice in Wonderland fan (books, movies, videogames, etc.). I think we are going to go back on an off-night over spring break to see it in IMAX. Should be fun!

I think this is enough for one day! The weather is BEAUTIFUL here this weekend, but I'm stuck inside procrastinating writing a paper until later tonight when I'm going to a friend's bday party. I hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

THE plan

I have a plan for the first five months of this year. It is NOT a resolution, because, well, everyone sucks at those. Also, this is not just a decision on a whim, it is a necessity!

As you all (should) know by now, I'm getting married in less than nine months (238 days to be exact... not that I'm counting). You have probably also guessed that I am not where I want to be with my weight. I did a good job of maintaining during the fall semester, but that ain't going to fly this time around. I have 238 days to get into shape so I will not have to worry about what I look like in my wedding dress. I figured I need to be at my goal weight by summer so I can get the final fittings and alterations to my dress, so I have developed a totally possible plan (THE plan). My genius plan is to lose 5lbs every month for the next 5 months (give or take as necessary). That is a about 1.25 lbs a week, which is healthy and completely possible. Also, my Wii Fit (which came in yesterday) will be key in helping me. I can work out at home and have fun at the same time (so no expensive gyms or working out in front of people I don't know). I'm really excited about this, so I'm going to post my progress every Monday after my weigh-in, and also in the sidebar.

Wish me luck!

The shred and 3 kings.

I started the shred yesterday.

I would love to tell you that I made it all the way through the 20 minutes without even breaking a sweat... but that would be lying, and lying is bad (or so I've been told).

I made it a quarter of the way through the video.

(I said "quarter of the way" because that sounds WAY more impressive than if you do the math to realize that I actually did not make it very far)

(Now I'll give you a second to calculate how long I lasted. Yeah, I know you're doing it and can't leave my "quarter of the way" be)

So we are now on the same page right? I made it a whopping five minutes before throwing in the towel. The first two minutes were warm-ups, so stretches and jumping jacks. Jumping jacks suck, but I can handle them. The next (and my last) three minutes were strength training. It consisted of alternating between push-ups (UGH) and squat/pushes. Since I did not have my hand weights with me, I used a can of green beans and a can of peas. Yeah, go ahead and laugh. I'm sooo not laughing today though because I feel like my arms are going to fall off. Can we say ZERO upper body strength? I could only do five of the push-ups or so (and the girly ones at that) before just sitting and staring at the television. Even when I was in shape with martial arts I hated push-ups.

I think we have now officially established that I am a weakling, and severely out of shape. I didn't shred today, but I did climb four flights of stairs, so that should count for something right?

In other news, I went to my church's Christmas play last night. The kids performed "3 Wise Men and a Baby." Two of the youth (my stepbrother included) and the music minister were the Wise Men, but the kids filled the rest of the roles. They put a spin on it though. Instead of just being three regular kings, our kings consisted of Elvis (the king of rock n roll), Michael Jackson (the king of pop), and James Brown (the king of soul). My stepbrother was Michael. They all did a fantastic job. I'm so proud of them!

Here are some videos I took. The first one is during the play. I know it is difficult to understand exactly what they are saying, but it is entertaining nonetheless. The second video is from after the play. The guys were just goofing off.
