Where is my laptop? *sniff sniff* oh there it is!

This entry is in response to an article on MSN based on ASUS' new line of laptops (Catch the article here for backup information). The new computers come in four colors, with each color corresponding to a different scent. How amazing is that? I mean, I don't even know where to start, except that I am slightly jealous that my new ASUS Eee pc does not have a smell....

As a psych major, I am pretty sure that some I/O psychologist came up with the idea. We have learned in class that different things can have an effect on the decisions we make. For example, colors (and scents) can change the way we think or feel. Purchasing a laptop based on the scent it produces is really a genius idea. Of course no one is going to buy one thinking "this scent triggers certain things in my brain making me want to purchase it," but deep down inside it is the truth. Plus, how cool would it be to have a "type-n-sniff" for a computer? Just think about it... no more smelly classmates. Just open up the computer, and become surrounded by an "earthy musk" or flowers instead of your neighbors BO. Or better yet, no worries if you are the smelly classmate (hey, I know sometimes it's hard to wake up for the 8am class... showers don't always take priority lol).

Apparently availability and prices are not known at the moment. It will be interesting to see how these little "stinkers" (hahahaha sorry, couldn't resist) do in stores.

Feeling Better

I found some sinus meds that don't knock me out (yay!) so I am feeling much better. Yesterday turned out to be a pretty good day. After class, I went to Frankfort to meet my dad for a late lunch/early dinner. We ate at O'Charleys. It was great b/c it was just the two of us. When we are together, there is usually at least one other person around, so I enjoyed the one-on-one time. We had dinner then went to wally world. He didn't want to get stuck in traffic, and there was a nasty looking storm coming through, so we just went shopping for a little bit. I regret kind of taking for granted those moments with him when I was younger. I really enjoyed spending time with him, even if it was just dinner and wondering around wal-mart. He had to get back home, so he gave me my new computer (more on that in a minute) and we parted ways. It was sad really. I do miss him.

So a couple of months ago, he got a new laptop to take with him on business trips. He got an ASUS EeePC. It is really small, and incredibly fast. He doesn't really need it anymore, and my laptop is 3yrs old, and, well.... is showing it's age (think random shutting off, and owner electricution.....). Basically, he decided to give me the asus. I absolutely love it. It is so small that I can take it on campus with me. I'm very excited! :D

OK, back to yesterday.... After my time with Dad, I went to Mom's house. I played with George and Caddy for a little bit, then Mom and Travers came home with my cousin Makayla. We went to Applebee's to meet with one of Mom's friends. I just got dessert, since I was still soo full from dinner. When we got home, I sat in the living room and talked to Travers for a while, then came back home. That is pretty much it, but overall it was a good day :)

Slacking

So I haven't posted in a couple of days... probably because there hasn't been much to blog about. I am still trying to catch up on some sleep from my exciting, but oh so exhausting weekend. Luckily, I have the next two days off! (So very excited :D )

Since I don't have any experiences to talk(or type in this case) about, I did come across something interesting to share. Yesterday, Matthew and I were at his parents house. They are setting up for the 127 yard sale, and wanted him to go through some of his stuff. While digging through boxes and plastic bins, we came across a box full of N64 games, a playstation, and other things like that. Now, I remember when the playstation came out. I was in the 4th grade. It was such a huge deal then, but now with the PS2 and the fairly new PS3, the playstation is old news. I can imagine in maybe 5 years, even the PS3 will be forgotten. When our children are old enough to play video games, the playstation, and probably even the PS2 we own, will be to them like the atari is to us... old technology, and old news. That is life, though... the things we make such huge deals about will eventually be not so big, and end up being just junk in the attic.
